19th & 20th Century Pharmacy & Ephemera Auction
Bob & Sallie Connelly will conduct an Auction of 19th and 20th Century Pharmacy Items and Ephemera at the Showplace in Binghamton on Sunday December 11, 2011 at 10:00 am with a preview at 9:00 am. The auction includes items from the Smith family drug store operated in Deposit, NY from 1875 to 1960, and items from the Estate of Ron J. Whalen Jr., a teacher, historian, author and an assistant to Congressman George Wortley (NY Rep. 1981-1989). All of the items in this auction are selling without reserve AS IS (No Refunds, No Returns) at a 10% buyers premium.

Some of the items in this auction are pharmaceutical, including an oak label dispensing cabinet, several mortars and pestles, hundreds of jars and bottles, several stoneware snuff jars, prescription files, apothecary scales and boxes of weights, numerous patent medicine bottles, many in their original boxes, and many smalls; advertising, including an 18" papier-mâché cigar store Indian for Admiration Cigars, display cabinets for Putnam Dyes, Broncho Homeopathic Remedies and Coats sewing thread, a Hires Rootbeer mug and assorted Rexall store items; miscellaneous, including a Mickey Mouse wrist watch in original box, a large railroad or trolley bell, a horn hat rack, and 4 Presidential medals; and ephemera, including 100's of scenic postcards, political buttons, drug store papers, photo albums of Presidents, souvenir items from a Congressional trip to Russia, 10 boxes of Binghamton ephemera, an 1856 Jay Gould map of Delaware County NY, an 1876 Broome County Atlas, hand drawn surveyor's maps, and an assortment of old books.
Absentee and phone bids for this auction can be submitted using the convenient bidform. Bidders must be pre-registered. First-time NYS tax exempt buyers must complete and submit NYS Resale Certificate ST-120.
