Guns And German & U.S. Military Memorabilia Auction

Bob & Sallie Connelly will conduct a Guns And German & U.S. Military Memorabilia Inventoried Auction at the Showplace in Binghamton on Sunday, April 27, 2008 at 10:00 am with a previews at 8:00 am and on Saturday, April 26 from 5:00-8:00 pm.

We are selling two major collections: the Estate of Robert Joachim von Ribbentrop's SS armband(Bob) E. Doering an internationally known collector of German World War II memorabilia, and items from the Estate of Earl Steinbrecher, which were found in a trunk in his attic. One of the more unusual items in this sale is the armband of Joachim von Ribbentrop, Hitler's Foreign Minister from 1938 until 1945, who was executed after the Nuremberg trials.

Absentee and Phone Bids
Bid paddle Absentee and phone bids must be submitted by 5:00 pm, Friday, April 25, 2008, and will only be accepted if pre-registered using our online bid form. Phone bidders are urged to submit a backup a backup absentee bid in case we cannot reach you at the time of the sale.

Weitsman Stoneware Collection

Bob Connelly will talk about "The Valuation of Stoneware: How to Appraise When There Are No Direct Comparables" on Saturday, May 17, 2008 at 6:15 pm at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, 30 Lodge Street, Albany NY 12207 as part of a daylong presentation on The Weitsman Stoneware CollectionWeitsman Stoneware  Collection presented jointly by The Hudson Valley Chapter of the American Society of Appraisers and The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

The day's events start at the New York State Museum, Empire State Plaza, Albany, NY 12230, where participants will enjoy a Lecture and Tour of the Weitsman Collection, a Backstage Tour of stoneware not currently on exhibit, and a Tour of the Latin American Art Collection on loan from the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. These events are free, but registration is required.

The evening events at the Crowne Plaza include a discussion at 5:00 pm by Frederick L. Iusi of "Current Changes in USPAP," Bob's talk after dinner, and a talk at 7:15 pm by Alex Rosenberg on "Latin American and Cuban Art." The seminar qualifies for 6.5 ASA and AAA continuing education credits. Registration is $70 before May 1; $80 after.
