Art Walk Exhibit and Sale: Viscosity Glass by Cristy Aloysi

As part of Binghamton's First Friday Art Walk the Connelly Gallery at 205 State St, Binghamton, NY 13901-2711Cristy Aloysi blowing glass will hold an exhibit and sale of handblown Viscosity Glass by Cristy Aloysi on Friday, November 2, 2007 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. The exhibit and sale of Viscosity Glass from the collection of the artist's mother, Virginia Aloysi, will continue through November 23, weekdays from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and at other times by appointment (Telephone: 607-722-9593).

A graduate of Skidmore College who continued her studies at the Studio Art Center International in Florence, at Corning Glass, at the Haystack Mountain School of Crafts in Maine, and at other venues, Ms. Aloysi was twice selected as resident artist for glassblowing at the Maho Bay Recycled Art Center on St. John, the Virgin Islands. Cristy Aloysi's handblown glass, Eyes She participated in the New England Craft Program in Williamsburg, MA, and taught at Renton Technical College in Washington, and at Seattle's Pratt Fine Arts Center, as well as at Maho Bay. Ms. Aloysi began her current career at Urban Glass in Brooklyn, NY, where she learned the ancient art of blowing glass by hand. In 2002, she moved to Seattle, where she developed a line of contemporary glass objects for the home. Her Viscosity Glass pieces, characterized by clean lines and simple designs, are each unique, with no two exactly the same.
