Wings of Eagles Museum Lecture & Tour: 29 June 2007

On Friday, June 29, 2007, Bob Connelly will conduct a lecture and tour of the Wings of Eagles Museum at 17 Aviation Rd, Horseheads, NY 14845 in the Elmira-Corning Regional Airport for members of the Antique Automobile Club of America, Heinkel He-162 Volksjaeger WWII fighter jetwhose Eastern Region is holding their annual spring meet in Binghamton over the June 28-30 weekend. The tour bus leaves Binghamton at 9:00 AM, returning about 2:00 PM. The tour, which is open to the public, includes transportation and lunch for $37.50. There are just a few places left, so please call Robert Seidel at 607-722-7935 to reserve yours.

A highlight of the tour will be the full size scale model of the Heinkel He-162 Volksjaeger, the second jet engined fighter aircraft to be fielded by the Luftwaffe in WWII. This remarkable model, which Bob appraised for the Museum, is so accurate that visitors find it hard to believe the model isn't real.

The Wings of Eagles Museum Lecture and Tour is just one of many events planned by the Antique Automobile Club of America for its Eastern Spring Meet. Another is the parade at dusk on Friday, June 29 through downtown Binghamton of 15-20 gas-lit horseless carriages. All of the events are detailed in the AACA Meet Brochure [PDF: 360 KB].
